Lilidots Lesbian Women's Walking Group |
The Lilidots are a lesbian women's walking group, organised and run by by lesbian members for lesbian women. *
The Lilidots were founded by lesbian feminists in the 1980's and feminist values continue to influence how we organise our walks and interact as a group. If you are a lesbian and enjoy walking then you are very welcome, and we hope you'll feel at home with us.
* lesbian women in this context means same sex attracted biological women. Bisexual biological women are also welcome.
We are based in Scotland and like to vary our walks as much as possible around the country throughout the year for all abilities, fitness and age. We have monthly walks on the last weekend of every month, except December when we meet earlier to avoid clashing with the Christmas and New Year holidays. Usually after our walks we head for somewhere local for coffee and cake before heading for home.
There are usually some weekend trips depending on Lilidots volunteer organisers, and this means we can travel a bit further. The accommodation can vary from hostels and bunk houses to mountaineering club huts.
Where possible we share cars and the cost, so please let the organiser know if you need or can provide transport.
In the latter part of the year we hold a planning meeting, to which everyone is invited, to organise the following year's events. All suggestions are welcome and we encourage and support everyone to become an event organiser for a walk or weekend trip.
We respect members who have allergies or a fear of dogs so, unless it is clearly stated as a 'Lilidoggies' walk, we are sorry but your pooch is not welcome.
